How a missing person’s case has turned into a circus of misogynism and sexism

Every year, thousands of people go missing in the UK, and although most are often eventually found, there are still a significant number who are not.

Currently the UK news is featuring the case of a woman called Nicola Bulley, whose dog was found running loose, whilst she still remains missing. It’s been 3 weeks, now, and I can only imagine what the family are going through and hope there can be a positive outcome to this tragedy.

It only took about 2 weeks before things started going off track. Last week the police released details that Nicola was perimenopausal, and was struggling because of her medication, on top of this she had faced “significant issues with alcohol” brought on by the menopause.

The challenges of menopause are complex, but poorly understood by doctor’s and women. This is unsurprising given that in the UK currently it is not mandatory to study women's health — in fact that's not even happening until 2024. Good to know that the health of half the world’s population is taken seriously.
