When life gives you lemons…write down why you’re grateful
With wellbeing being such a buzz word these days, it can sometimes be hard to get lost in the noise of what to do to maintain your personal well being. Positive Psychology is a particular branch of psychology dedicated — unsurprisingly — to positivity.
Whilst a lot of therapy and coaching can cover off some complicated exercises to get you thinking differently, it’s also good to be able to access simple activities which will still benefit us — so here are 3 activities designed to improve your overall well-being and happiness. These simple but effective exercises, can help shift your focus to the positive aspects of your life and leave you feeling more fulfilled.
First off, let’s cover the benefits of gratitude journaling. By taking a few minutes each day to write down things that you are grateful for, you can improve your mood, increase feelings of happiness and have a greater sense of overall well-being. This exercise is easy to do, all you need is a notebook and a pen. The key is to focus on the positive things in your life, no matter how small they may seem.
